Aberlour A'Bunadh #63 Bottling Note
Behold, the 63rd batch of A'Bunadh from Aberlour! This expression is well-known for it's particular intense flavour profile, imparted by the maturation in Spanish Oloroso sherry butts and by being bottled at cask strength - this batch, it sits at a burly 61% ABV. Also, 63 is the atomic number of Europium. That's a fun fact that you can bring to parties alongside this bottle. Much better than turning up with no facts and tasty whisky.
Nose: Buttered malt loaf, sherried peels, spearmint and Christmas cake.
Palate: Dark chocolate mousse and yet more Christmas cake richness. Cinnamon and white pepper give it plenty of heat.
Finish: Very slightly earthy on the finish, though dried fruit and sugared almond notes remain.
