Lammershoek Terravinum Reserve Red
An expressive Swartland-style four cultivar blend of grapes from characterful old vines. Soft, classy and complex with a juicy palate, reminiscent of classic Old World Rhône wine.
VINEYARDS & VINIFICATION
Farmed dry-land. The grapes were handpicked early in the morning, Hand- sorted and only the best grapes were used, before a mixture of whole bunch and partially destemmed pressing. Partial carbonic maceration was allowed on some of the batches. The various components spent 14 months aging in 500 L French oak barrels, 5 000 L foudres* and concrete tanks. One year’s bottle- aging took place before release. A complex Swartland terroir-driven wine – originating from old vines, namely Syrah, Grenache, Mourvédre and Carignan.
Vibrant ruby Red.
Fresh berries with mulberry and currants being prominent. Well integrated spice flavours.
Soft elegant mouthfeel with well integrated tannins. Delicious cherry and berry notes on the palate.
74% Syrah, 17% Grenache, 6% Mourvèdre, 3% Carignan.
Alcohol: 14% – Residual Sugar 2.4 g/l – pH 3.66 – Total Acidity 5.5 g/l.
